ABOUT OUR SERVICES

Appraisal Services Associates forensic valuation consultants advise on individual properties as well as large collections (50,000+). Besides fine arts and antiques, specialists value photography, decorative arts, collectibles, residential and office contents since 1984. Appraisals are provided to assist the collector, attorney, accountant, fiduciary, insurance company and claimants in routine filings as well as in litigation and dispute resolution. Gift tax appraisals are often prepared on fair market rental rates.  Estate appraisals can reflect fractional ownership discounts when allowed. Blockage discount appraisals assist artist’s estates and large collections.

We listen very carefully to the needs of our clients, providing a scope of work that can range from a simple consultation to an inspection, forensic report and testimony. Extensive experience in litigation support and expert witnessing results in great success equally for both plaintiffs as well as defendants. Frequently both sides stipulate to our reports. Trained professionals combine their academic and art historical backgrounds with extensive knowledge of markets to ensure the greatest accuracy. All reports exceed all professional standards including Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, The Principals of Practice and Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
