Who We Are

Charles T. Rosoff, ASA, MRICS is the president of Appraisal Services Associates, a firm of appraisers that provide forensic valuations of Fine Art, Antiques, Decorative Arts, Residential and Office contents. He has been appraising since 1984, is an Accredited Senior Appraiser designated by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, is a past President of the New York Chapter of the ASA, was the  Legal Issues Editor of the Personal Property Journal of the ASA, was on the faculty of the American Law Institute, American Bar Association (ALI-ABA) Post-Mortem Planning and Estate Administration, participated at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York program Divorce in New York in the 21st Century, teaches Personal Property Valuation—The Legal and Commercial Environment for the ASA at various universities, taught Appraisal Research Methods at New York University, and has testified as an expert witness  numerous times in multiple jurisdictions. Mr. Rosoff is currently an editor of the annual supplements to Valuation Strategies in Divorce and Valuing Specific Assets in Divorce. Mr. Rosoff has a B.A. degree in History of Art from the University of Michigan, completed the one year training program at Sotheby's London, completed the Certificate program in Appraisal Studies at New York University, completed all the courses in appraisal practice given by the American Society of Appraisers, attended courses in the graduate program in the History of Decorative Arts from the Cooper Hewitt Museum and has worked for Christie's New York. Kenneth Jay Linsner, ASA has been appraising since 1970. He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers, a Member of the Appraisers Association of America, and a member of the American Institute for Conservation. Mr. Linsner was trained at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and its Conservation Center. He was a consultant in conservation at the Brooklyn Museum. Mr. Linsner was designated as a “Qualified Source” by the Department of Treasury of the United States and the Office of the Attorney General. He has acted as an expert witness and provided litigation support in many Federal and Civil cases involving artworks, their authenticities and their values. Aleza Tadri Friedman, AM is a staff appraiser at Appraisal Services Associates. She has been working at Appraisal Services Associates since 2002. Mrs. Friedman received her M.A. in English from St. John’s University, and her B.A. from New York University, graduating summa cum laude with honors in Art History. She is an Accredited Member of the American Society of Appraisers, is currently serving as a vice-president of the New York City Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers, and has passed the USPAP 2006 exam. Along with Charles T. Rosoff, ASA, MRICS she has been co-editor of the supplements to Valuation Strategies in Divorce and Valuing Specific Assets in Divorce since 2007. Mrs. Friedman has worked at Exit Art, a non-profit art gallery in New York City, as well as the Brooklyn Museum of Art. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta. Sara Rudoff Olshin, MA has been affiliated with Appraisal  Services Associates since 2003, serving as an appraiser of decorative and fine art, collections, and antiques for diverse purposes including estate tax, insurance, charitable donation, and matrimonial/division of property. Ms. Olshin received a B.A. in History from Stern College, a Masters in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, and a certificate in Appraisal Studies from New York University. Her prior work experience includes providing curatorial services at The Jewish Museum, serving as a consultant for private dealers and curators, and working in sales for a fine furniture and antique gallery in New York City. Ms.Olshin has assisted in the compilation of several publications including such treatises as Antique Garden Ornament: Two Centuries of American Taste by Barbara Israel, and Five Centuries of Hanukkah Lamps from The Jewish Museum: A Catalogue Raissone by Susan Braunstein.
